THE LAST STRAW BILL: "Hellboy" betrays our veterans.
In Sep. of 1966, despite being nineteen, naive and immature, I boarded a train first for Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and ultimately for Viet Nam. I went willingly for that two year tour of duty because, as the damn boy scout that I am, at that time, I thought it was the right thing to do. I served with honor, and left service promoted to SGT. E-5. I was good. I did my job, and in doing so helped in the mass bombing, napalming and slaughter of thousands. This so my neighbors and friends could believe they live in freedom. How was I thanked? I was not. During that first year home, no one thanked me, gave me a pat on the back. Instead they responded with scorn to the alienation I had acquired, the rebellion, the long hair and self-medication. Since, on Veterans Day, a number of friends have said thanks. I am touched deeply, each time, by their kindness. I take it to be for my willingness to go, not for what I did. For what I did, I have lost my "self," to re-awaken to the real world in which we live, the world of suffering, lies and greed.
I cannot blame anyone for their deep sleep. The sweet narcotic of reality TV, football and sex is seductive. I have not been spared. And on top of this seduction, we still have a need to medicate ourselves. Our appetites can never be filled. But please, please, I have rung this alarm before. Please awaken.
I am going to ask you to do two things today for which you will lose nothing, including your freedom, which you have already given away by asking your children to kill your enemies. First of all, please take down the French flags from your Facebook page. While I too mourn the loss of innocents, flags represent governments, not it's people. All governments are complicit in war. They are the military branch of the corporations. War is profit. Do not give your support to this on-going killing. It will never end. The only way we will ever stop killing is to say "I will not kill." Each of us.
This is our problem. We have been deluded into thinking we are the good guys, democracy fighting for freedom. We trust our politicians, after all they know more than we do. They do. They know that they are criminals, and willing or not, must do the bidding of those who pull the strings. How many of these do we have to watch fall, caught in their perversions before we catch on. Here are a few, mostly under reported examples. CNN reports that recently Daniel Rosen, a senior State Dept. counterterrorism official was arrested on "charges he solicited sex online from a minor" (J.D. Hayes, Natural News Nov. 16, 2015). Timothy DeFoggi, one time acting head of cyber security at the Dept. of Health and Human Services is spending at least 25 years in prison for "participating in a child exploitation endeavor, as wll as conspiracy to distribute child pornograpy" (Hayes). Jesse Ryan Loskarn, chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander, was arrested for possessing and distributing child pornography. The list goes on to include US Rep. Anthony Weiner (lewd behavior toward women, and on and on. Would you trust your children to men like this. Apparently you would.
On Nov. 10th, the US senate passed a bill making vaccination mandatory for all veterans receiving medical benefits. This might be considered acceptable if it were only flu and tetanus. But the list of vaccines is potentially 90 (ninety!!). The bill is authored by Sen. Dean Heller of the state of Nevada. As Janet Phelan says (Activist Post Nov. 17, 2015):
"The issues here are legion. First of all, an entire group of individuals, those who at one time were in military service, will lose their inherent right to opt out of receiving what is considered prophylactic treatment. According to Anita Stewart, who served in the Air Force and now hosts Wise Women Media radio show, “This could include experimental vaccines or vaccines that have not been tested.”It is believed that those who refuse will, under this Bill, lose their medical benefits.Second, there is the issue of the sheer numbers of allegedly preventative immunizations required on this schedule. As anyone who has come down with a case of the flu due to taking a flu shot might realize, the numbers of immunizations on the required schedule could be enough to sicken anyone.And herein lurks the question of vaccine safety. Flu vaccines have been known to cause Guillain-Barre syndrome, which is a neurological disorder wherein a person’s own immune system attacks the nerve cells and can cause paralysis. Gulf War Syndrome, which may manifest with such symptoms as rash, severe fatigue, muscle and joint pain, headache, irritability, depression, gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders and neurological cognitive defects, is thought by some researchers to have been caused by “vaccine overload.” According to Dr. Mae-Wan Ho and Professor Malcolm Hooper, US Gulf war soldiers received “at least 17 different vaccines, including live vaccines (polio and yellow fever as well as experimental vaccines that had not been approved (anthrax, botulinum toxoid) and were of doubtful efficacy.” (You can find this article at Educate-Yourself or The Truth Seeker, in addition to Activist Post).
I would simply ask, especially if you have a family member who is a veteran, that you pass this on to anyone who will listen. This is unacceptable. Any veteran of whom you have already asked so much, will soon be dead from this "overdose of vaccines, and added to the 22 veterans who kill themselves daily. The apparent alternative for veterans is to lose the benefits that so many of us depend on. This is a gun held to our heads, which would tend to dismiss the statement that if we don't fight the enemy there (currently Syria) we will have to fight him here. The enemy is already here. It is those in whom we have placed our trust and well-being.
That nineteen year old is still alive, and would like to believe in the goodness of Americans. Today, he just wants to cry, crushed one more time by this betrayal. The adult me is simply angry at Hellboy, and the treason of the US senate. The I that is a process simply sighs, and says: "Isn't it!"
