Here I am embarassed once again by my fellow Americans. Here are a few things that are troubling me today, and not in any particular order:
1. There is a new rash of HPV commercials with teens guilt tripping their parents for not knowing that the HPV virus can cause cancer. And naturally many of us will buy this hype, and rush out to get a vaccination for our child at over $200 a pop, all the while again neglecting to do the homework that we should have done in the first place. This homework would, in the least, show that evidence that this virus causes cancer is questionable. Note the following from Natural News:
"For the last several years, HPV vaccines have been marketed to the public and mandated in compulsory injections for young girls in several states based on the idea that they prevent cervical cancer. Now, NaturalNews has obtained documents from the FDA and other sources (see below) which reveal that the FDA has been well aware for several years that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) has no direct link to cervical cancer.
NaturalNews has also learned that HPV vaccines have been proven to be flatly worthless in clearing the HPV virus from women who have already been exposed to HPV (which includes most sexually active women), calling into question the scientific justification of mandatory "vaccinate everyone" policies.
Furthermore, this story reveals evidence that the vaccine currently being administered for HPV -- Gardasil -- may increase the risk of precancerous cervical lesions by an alarming 44.6 percent in some women. The vaccine, it turns out, may be far more dangerous to the health of women than doing nothing at all.
If true, this information reveals details of an enormous public health fraud being perpetrated on the American people, involving FDA officials, Big Pharma promoters, and even the governors of states like Texas. The health and safety of tens of millions of young girls is at stake here, and what this NaturalNews investigative report reveals is that HPV vaccinations may not only be medically useless; they may also be harmful to the health of the young girls receiving them."

2. I am also reminded on any 4th of July just how little anyone who has actually seen a battlefield would care about fireworks. A couple of years ago I spent a 4th of July evening with an Afghan vet who had been shot in the abdomen in battle. When the fireworks started, most local, he was terrified. Apparently someone has discovered how to make fireworks without the bang, but Americans wouldn't like that-no cheap thrill, and the more indifferent we are to the pain of others the better. Take my word, most veterans do not set off fireworks. Have we no compassion.
3. And finally, the worst slap of my entire life, Bill Clinton meeting with Loretta Lynch. This is easily the worst example of politicians who think they are above the law, and the rest of us. I know that it is possible that this was a calculated move to "taint" the case that the FBI may have , to make it look political, and it is not about whether I believe Hillary Clinton to be guilty, or whether I like her, it is about the elitist indifference, the mockery of all humans.
