Shortly after returning from Viet Nam, I got into blues and electric guitar. My friend Dave and I took turns trying to copy the likes of Muddy Waters, BB King, Albert King, or Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac with Willie Dixon. I think Dave was pretty good in those days- I ended up studying classical guitar. We often found ourselves in clubs, the only two white guys there. I have often wondered how this odd mix came about. Simply, we just wanted to play that stuff. Here is a video that maybe explains it better than my words. This is a live performance of "The Thrill is Gone" with BB and Gary Moore.
